Abstract

In this article, the history of Turkey-EU relations and the effects of EU full membership process on Turkish politics are examined. After that, Brexit (British decision to leave the EU) is analysed in terms of its effects on Turkey-EU relations and Turkish politics. In this context, the changes in the discourses of political parties in Turkey about the post-Brexit EU project and a possible shift to populism are discussed, by specifically referring to the declarations of political party representatives.
