Blockchain Based Transparent and Trustworthy E-Voting System

Abstract

Elections are the basis for democracy that is a very important phenomenon for a society to live in order. Recently, traditional election systems have two significant challenges, which are the trust of public to the election and the cost of running elections. In this research, a new blockchain based e-voting systems is introduced to increase the trust of the public and to reduce the cost of running elections. The proposed system provides eligibility, transparency, anonymity, and immutability for voting that properties are important for elections. A web service is designed and implemented to run the e-voting system. The execution of the system shows that the blockchain based e-voting system provides trust and transparency for voters.
