Abstract
In this study, the physical and rheological properties of three kind of Turkish coals representing bituminous, sub-bituminous and lignite were investigated to determine the atomization characteristics depending on coalification. According to results of this study; the preparation of CWS using different kind of coals for combustion shows different formulation such as solids ratio, viscosity and particle size. For certain firing rate of the combustors, the flow rate of the slurries change according to coal type because of the solids ratio and viscosity. But the change of the flow rates of the slurries has no significant effect on atomization.
