Abstract

In this study, land use information of the backscene and forescene zone of Bosporus was obtained by object based classification method of IKONOS MS data which has 4m spatial resolution. Also, a variety of data including satellite images, 1:5000 scale maps have been used as data sources together with ground truth studies. Result of the study shows that object oriented classification gives accurate results comparatively to the pixel based classification for obtaining land use classes from high resolution satellite images.
