Abstract

In today's global market, ensuring a sustainable supply chain has become critical for companies to thrive and achieve their long-term strategic goals. The economic, environmental, and social impacts of company operations are integral to the overall sustainability of the supply chain. Moreover, companies are increasingly held responsible for the practices of their suppliers. This study aims to determine the necessary actions for a textile retail company to manage its supply chain more efficiently and with minimal waste, while developing a strategy for sustainable improvement activities. The company's requirements were analyzed across three dimensions. From an economic standpoint, the goal is to streamline the supply chain process and reduce costs. In the social and environmental context, the objective is to foster sustainability in both the company's own processes and those of its suppliers. To achieve these goals, the study employed Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to assess the current state of the supply chain and identify bottleneck processes. Subsequently, improvement suggestions, including specific lean tools, such as kaizens, were proposed for addressing these bottlenecks. Furthermore, the study provides recommendations for activities that can enhance the social, economic, and environmental sustainability of the supply chain. By implementing the findings of this study, the textile company can optimize its supply chain, reduce waste, and contribute to long-term sustainability. The study's outcomes offer actionable insights for textile companies seeking to enhance their supply chain practices and align them with sustainable objectives.
