Abstract

The statistical correlation of wind and solar thermal power availability in the northeastern part of the Arabian Peninsula is investigated. Simple models were developed to determine wind, solar, and hybrid power resources per unit area. Correlations between solar and wind power data were carried out on hourly, daily, and monthly basis. The results of correlations indicate that possible applications of hybrid systems could be considered for efficient utilization of these resources.
