Abstract

Electric motors stand out with a large percentage when the industrial use of energy is considered. Various regulations are applied and studies are carried out to reduce the energy used by the motors for this reason. It is important to reveal and examine the motor losses and the components in these studies. Iron losses, which are an important part of motor losses, are calculated analytically by using motor geometrical structure and analytical calculation of the motor magnetic quantites in different motor regions for a 5.5 kW 3 Phase 50 Hz induction motor in this study. Analytical results are supported with FEM results and the results are compared for the accuracy of analytical calculations.
