Abstract

Phase shifters are passive microwave devices used in many communication systems. Phase shifters change the phase of the applied signal. In this way, phase shifters can be used to adjust the phase of the signal going to each antenna in phased array antenna systems, to perform beam scanning in radar applications. While ferrite phase shifters can be used as a stand-alone structure, they can also be used as a sub-system in circulator designs. In this study, nonreciprocal phase shifter analysis and 90-degree differential phase shifter structure are proposed for two different ferrite geometries and layouts. Proposed nonreciprocal phase shifter can be effectively used in the design of Differential Phase Shift Circulators.
