Abstract
Algorithms are proposed for detection of loss of petroleum products due to leaks and evaporation in tanks, making it possible to make a substantiated decision about the state of a tank under the conditions of actual exploitation. Early detection of leaks in storage tanks is essential to avoid excessive economical loss and reducing the environmental and health hazards that normally result from undetected leaks. In order to determine the leaks in tanks the differences of successive measurements (discrepancies) of the mass of petroleum products are compared in this study. Some leaks detection algorithms based on the statistical characteristics of the mentioned discrepancies are proposed.
