Abstract

Reection through intelligent reecting surfaces is evaluated under the specular and diffuse reectivity assumptions in channel modelling. In this paper, the effects of these two different approaches are investigated in a comparative manner. In this scope, the preservation of power law is included to the investigations for path loss of the intelligent reecting surfaces. Therefore, a more detailed path loss expression is proposed. As a result of the comparison made by using this expression, an evaluation of the cases that the intelligent surfaces are benecial in path loss aspect is made for both approach.
