Abstract

During recent years, a strong effort has been made towards the development of nanocomposites as the sound absorbing materials. In this study, the effect of the addition of nanocomposites to the styrene-butadiene rubber on acoustic performance was experimentally investigated. The acoustic performance was determined by sound absorption and transmission loss (TL) testing. Nanocomposites were prepared with loading fractions of carbon nanotubes (CNT), P-type silica and S-type silica. The effects of nanocomposites on sound absorption and transmission loss were analyzed by given results.
