Abstract

In this paper, two-dimensional electromagnetic problems are solved with the shifted frequency internal equivalence (SFIE) principle. Accuracy and bandwidth of the solutions are assessed by making comparisons to traditional moment method calculations and analytical solutions when available. Homogeneous and inhomogeneous dielectric scatterers of different sizes are solved, near fields and scattered far fields are compared. It is shown that SFIE gives accurate results within a very wide frequency band. Computational time for multifrequency analysis is also reduced significantly by using SFIE.
