Abstract
Through the use of smarter relay nodes, network coding has a significant potential to address the resource scarcity problems that will be encountered in wireless networks. In this paper, we investigate the performance of the proposed orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) based network coded cooperation (NCC) system for the first time in the literature, with image transmission scenario by using software defined radio nodes. We make use of the broadcast nature of the wireless channel and incorporate direct source destination links in the reception process to improve the performance by using NCC architecture. Promising results are obtained that strengthen NCC's potential for usage in near future applications.
