Abstract
Public spaces, beyond direct communication between individuals, also support communication with the public through urban media, which has the potential to support the public's access to critical information and raise awareness on various issues. Therefore, this study speculates on an alternative urban media infrastructure that spreads throughout the city through public spaces and supports the public in obtaining information regularly. Accordingly, it first examines the current urban media practices through a field study and further questions them while speculating on the use of augmented reality as an alternative media infrastructure for information dissemination.
