Abstract

A group decision making process is extremely difficult due to the presence of multiple experts who have their own attitudes and motivations. Moreover, in some real life group decision making problems, especially in pluralistic and complex problem situations, experts may prefer to use their own criteria based on their expertise and have their own scale in order to assess alternatives under these criteria. In this study, a cumulative belief degree (CBD) approach based on fuzzy linguistic terms and belief structure is proposed for group decision making. The proposed approach aims to aggregate objective criteria scores and subjective evaluations of experts provided in different formats and scales. For this, transformation formulas of hesitant fuzzy sets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets to belief structure are presented. Finally, the procedure of the proposed method is illustrated using an example.
