Abstract

In this paper, an efficient power system modelling technique by utilizing the concept of multi-terminal component is introduced and the modelling concept is applied to phase coordinated based fault analysis. The proposed technique is based on the separation of phases into groups and uses multi-terminal components to model three-phase power system. Using multiterminal component and phase grouping technique, power system elements particularly lines and transformers can effectively be modelled. Consequently, the proposed technique is applied to three-phase and 9-bus test system in order to show how the proposed technique operates.
