Abstract

In this paper, a new generator torque control algorithm is proposed for variable speed-variable pitch wind turbine to extract maximum energy from the wind. In this controller scheme double PI controllers are utilized where conventional wind turbine control systems incorporate single PI controller. The proposed controller structure uses double feedback both from speed and power of the generator to maximize the harvest of wind energy.
