N2 - Rutin has an important protective role due to its useful effects as a potent antioxidant polyphenol and is available in many fruits and plants such as grapes, oranges, buckwheat, cherries, grapefruit, plums and apricots. Herein, the voltammetric sensor features of Ce and Cr containing iron oxide reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites (rGO) were investigated with rutin antioxidant in real samples. The target magnetite-rGO composites (Fe2·8Cr0·2O4-rGO, Fe2·5Cr0·2Ce0·3O4-rGO and Fe2·8Ce0·2O4-rGO) were synthesized by the co-precipitation of Ce4+ and Cr3+ metal ions. The sensing behaviors of Fe2·8Cr0·2O4-rGO, Fe2·5Cr0·2Ce0·3O4-rGO and Fe2·8Ce0·2O4-rGO composite materials were comparatively investigated to determine rutin antioxidant in Britton-Robinson electrolyte via differential pulse stripping voltammetry (DPSV). Fe2.5Cr0.2Ce0.3O4-rGO nanocomposite demonstrated better sensor features with a detection limit of 52 nM and a linear range of 0.075–12.00 μM. In the structure of Fe2·5Cr0·2Ce0·3O4-rGO, Ce4+ and Cr3+ metal ions integration of rGO contributed a synergetic impact and an excellent activity on the sensor performance. The applicability of the Fe2·5Cr0·2Ce0·3O4-rGO nanocomposite modified electrode for the determination of rutin in red apple and vitamin tablet by DPSV was shown by the standard addition method which was supported by high-performance liquid chromatography.
