Abstract
A dielectric resonator antenna is one of the most attractive antenna structures in the field of wireless communications due to its important features. This work proposes a dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) for 5G millimeter-wave applications. The proposed design is excited by two cross slots through a microstrip feed line and is evaluated using High-frequency structure simulator (HFSS) software with an overall size is 30 × 25 × 0.8 mm3. The proposed antenna offers a simulated impedance bandwidth of 10 to 30 GHz for a 5G millimeter-band wireless communication system. Simulation results show that the proposed structure exhibits a coherent gain of 5 dB and an efficiency value of more than 80%.
