Abstract

To remain competitive in the market, decision makers (DMs) have to regularly measure and evaluate the process performance of organizations. In this study, performance of a manufacturing company pertaining to 10 manufacturing job shops was measured and evaluated by utilizing a new Multiple Criteria Decision Making methodology (MCDM). This new methodology consists of combined Fuzzy TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution), Modified Compromised Weighting Method and DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis). The methodology has three stages established to develop a complete and accurate evaluation model and select the most efficient and effective jobshops. In the first stage, fuzzy TOPSIS was carried out to determine the jobshops ranking according to the qualitative performance assessment of workers in the Factory in which 10 decision criteria were transformed into a fourth variable as a satisfaction ratio. In the second stage, modified compromised weighting method was used to determine the criteria attribute weights. In the final stage, DEA was performed to find the job shops' performance rankings by using output-oriented VRS and CRS model with one constant input and four output variables which are completion ratio of operations at the right time, labour capacity ratio, quality adequacy score of jobshop used, and satisfaction ratio.
