Abstract

A new design of a single layer coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed, circularly polarized square slot antenna with a fork shape feedline is presented. By choosing proper dimensions of the feedline and grounded patch elements, two orthogonal resonant modes with 90phase difference for circular polarization (CP) operation can be excited. Predicted results are validated through experiments. The measured 3dB axial ratio bandwidth is 36% (2112-3056 MHz) for lower band I and 9% (5292-5837 MHz) for band II. Also total measured impedance bandwidth is 7810MHz. The peak gain of the antenna is measured as 4.35 dBi.
