Abstract
This study introduces a method for estimating sound speeds within layers for application in photoacoustic tomography imaging systems in layered media. For this purpose, a linear model has been developed, elucidating the relationship between the arrival times of acoustic waves from the source to the transducers and the sound speeds of the layers using Snell's law in a three-layered media. The least squares method has been preferred for solving the linear system. The accuracy of the developed method has been tested using data obtained with the k-Wave software.
